About us

A new era dawned at Villa Hepolahti in 2004 when the ownership transferred to Toivo and Maire Koskelo’s nephew Heikki and his wife Päivi. At the time Heikki worked in tourism and event production, and the decision was soon made to renovate Hepolahti into a meeting venue and holiday villa, respecting traditional building methods and with an eye for 1950s interior decoration.

Päivi and Heikki have their roles clearly defined. Heikki takes care of campaigns, bookings, guest activities and services, as well as maintenance of property and equipment, and in the meetings held at Villa Hepolahti, Heikki is an assisting host. This list alone reveals that there is no day like another for Heikki.

Päivi draws from a long experience in agriculture and the other food sector. Locally produced and organic food is close to her heart. She has long been interested in Finnish food production and its marketing, and that commitment and passion may now be seen, heard and tasted on Villa Hepolahti menus. As Päivi’s own words “the journey from the field to the fork is surprisingly short for the agronomist”.

The couple’s children, the fourth generation of Villa Hepolahti, are already actively participating in our daily activities.
